Hi guys, please no hate! My tortoise was at my moms house, and she took it outside while she was gardening. She lost him/her, and now we can’t find Rosie! I have warned her many times not to take him outside, but she never listens. It has been about a week, and the weather has been really hot. I...
THANKFULLY my tortoise will not eat anything red or colorful. Only green things. If it does start to think that, I will change it out right away. It has had no problem with it yet, and loves to sun bath under it.
Ok, guys… We FINALLY got a heat lamp for our tortoise (aka it finally came in) so now we don’t have that cheap little up light for heat anymore! The tortoise has been absolutely loving it!
Great! Roosevelt is starting to eat some unfamiliar things, and I am getting everything down (for the most part) because nobody can know everything. In the new cage, he/she is a lot more active, and loves to explore. I still do all of the regular things like soaking, and taking it outside (in a...
Yes, thank you for the tips! The aquarium varies from 75 degrees to 95 usually. Thank you for the food advice, I may try it! I don’t know if my tortoise will eat it or not, because it has only eaten real vegetables!
Yeah, that is a turtle. So cute though! If Michael is right, it would be a very easy pet, wood turtles are just like tortoises in the matter that they don’t need water. I don’t know anything about raising them, but they are usually very pricey to buy.
I personally live in Oklahoma and have a sulcate tortoise. They can’t live outdoors for about two years, or once they get a certain size. You could rescue an older one, or have it live indoors for about the first 1 1/2 years or more.
I honestly have no idea, but from what I have heard, baby tortoises live on their own. Because of this, it is unnatural for the male (or sometimes female) to help raise them. Again, this is based off of what I have heard. Hope this helps!
Tom and everybody has helped me so much also! I am so happy that your tortoise is thriving. Mine is just a baby, and I have already learned so much from everybody on here!
FIRST SATURDAY LIME FIRST SATURDAY LIME FIRST SATURDAY LIME!!! It is better than all of the other pesticides. It is not any way harmful to your tortoise. Or even the bugs. It creates a border, and they won’t go over it. Just sprinkle it on or around the enclosure!
That is horrible! I am so sorry that happened. Why would your neighbor let her do that? Pretty insane! Again, I am so sorry that happened, and I hope it doesn’t a-cure again in the future.
I have read the sheet multiple times. I am sorry if I am making you upset in any way. I honestly just got kind of mixed up because people were saying different things to do and I was confused.
