It's not something I feed to him on a daily basis. It's just an extra I give maybe a few times a month. He has half an acre to roam freely where he grazes on grasses and dandelions all day. Poison plant and chemical free enclosure.
Oh wow. Ok. Yea I was looking at russian pics and wasn't looking the same. The pic is deceiving. His plastron is indented. So most likely he was run over somewhere.
RE: Need Help - Russian Rehab
No, not sure how he got it. Looks like he got dropped or ran over. You can't see in the picture but the crack actually goes all the way underneath him.
Our local exotic rehabber brought this little guy to me this evening. I don't have much experience with Russians, so any help will do. Most likely this guy came from the local Petco or Petsmart. His shell has a nice crack and seems to be healing. He is very underweight and skinny. As of now I...
Well the entire spring and summer my sulcata never went back into his enclosure and preferred to sleep outside, even in the rain. I even tried putting him into it and he would just come back out and go under a bush in the yard. He wanted nothing to do with his house. Well this evening he went...

I've noticed my sulcata doing the same thing. He used graze all day non-stop. Since the heat jumped up to 90-95 here in texas his appetite has dropped. He even passed up an apple yesterday.
Thanks. Guess I'll go get a bunch of marigolds and citronella plants tomorrow. Was also thinking of bringing him indoors for a couple days so I could spray.

Most of the bird was already gone by the time I got back with my phone. Only the head is sticking out...
I just caught Clifford my Sulcata eating a bird. He was plowing through the bushes and came out and I saw that he had something in his mouth, but I thought it was a flower. I heard crunching and went to see and saw that he was eating a red cardinal fledgling. Anybody ever heard of a tortoise...
